Useful maps. Clear limits.
The atlas adapts geographic tools from the owner’s AnyMap project, without bringing over its unrelated video, payment or AI systems. A useful tool is not proof that its old demonstration data is reliable.

Not carried over as facts
AnyMap’s approximate country statistics were replaced with a dated, source-retaining World Bank feed. Its sketch shipping routes, military-base lists, political-regime timelines, alliance memberships and historical-border assumptions are not treated as verified current intelligence.
Historical borders are valuable, but the upstream historical-basemap project currently uses GPL-3.0 and describes substantial uncertainty; older AnyMap license notes differ. We link the original project rather than silently relicensing or presenting those boundaries as exact. No live conflict, vessel or troop feed is implied.
Video generation, games unrelated to geography, checkout, account management and AI-produced world statistics were not imported. This keeps the public research tool independent of private credentials and unverified model answers.
Source and software credits
- Natural Earth: public-domain 1:110m reference geography, distributed as world-atlas TopoJSON. Simplified boundaries and disputed units are not sovereignty judgments.
- World Bank World Development Indicators: CC BY 4.0 attribution; the atlas retains source URLs, hashes, original observation years and correction versions in its existing research storage.
- d3-geo, d3-geo-projection, d3-array and internmap: ISC; topojson-client: ISC. Full bundled software notices.
- AnyMap: geographic interaction and calculation patterns adapted from the owner’s project. No external user data, media or secrets copied.
